A Sasamakie Chashaku is a type of chashaku, a traditional Japanese matcha scoop, made from susudake bamboo, which is smoked bamboo from old thatched-roof houses. The smoky coloration and unique markings of the bamboo, achieved through years of exposure to smoke from an irori (sunken hearth), make it highly prized in Japanese tea ceremonies.
