Mariko station is turnd in to "Hariko". A paper mache doll, Look at it carefully. Is it real ? Traveling cats were drawn in the Edo period by Ukiyo-e artist Kuniyoshi Utagawa. Kuniyoshi likened 55 comically twisted gestures of cats with famous stations names on the historical Tokaido road . The series is known as "Myokaiko Gojusanbiki".
