140 cm long. A bird symbolizing Japan. The Japanese name "Tsuru" (smooth) Referring to the smooth featherless red head. A very beautiful posture with a long neck and legs. Lives in wetlands and grasslands in Hokkaido. Till this days Japanese cranes are believed to be messengers of God. They symbolize good fortune and longevity.
