About Showa Seito Co.
Showa Seito Co., Ltd. is a dinnerware manufacturer based in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, which was founded in 1927 during the early Showa era. The company's primary products are stoneware and ceramic items. In 1927, they established the Showa Seito Company through joint investment, with Kato as the overall responsible person and Nomura in charge of technology. At first, the company produced planters and brazier, but later the popularity of Yanagawa Nabe (a type of traditional Japanese pot with a lid) led to its production. n September 2004, the company purchased the shares of SanGo USA, a subsidiary of Japanese watchmaker Seiko, and in March 2005, it acquired all shares of Sangyo Pottery, also a Japanese company, to establish a manufacturing and sales network in Japan and the United States.
